The Unacknowledged Stop

The registry lost his journey. The people he reached did not.

Follow Eren Solt’s last outward manifest into the Saffron Escarpment. Cross the route he took, help a stranded crew, and discover why a delivered warrant was never acknowledged. Six missions uncover the rest of his life and bring a long-delayed answer to the people who inherited his absence.

The Long Silence Investigation ended with a historical outward manifest and no receiving acknowledgment. This campaign begins with that exact limit. Eren’s Gate Four refusal and later departure are established; his arrival and fate are not yet known to the player. The crew follows a regional receiving reference across Veyra. It is not a new signal from Eren or a call from beyond the planet.

The reference leads to Ravel Step, a publicly known wayhouse on a local spur near High Roost. People already travel there. What has been lost is the relationship between its old receiving designation and its living community. The lower receiving platform closed during a landslip; residents moved the work uphill. The regional registry treated the vacant authorized post as an absent destination, even after people there accepted Eren’s delivery.

The proposed answer is definite: Eren reached Ravel Step after Gate Four. He delivered the warrant and the smaller load he could still carry. With the residents’ local agreement he helped restore a relief service, stayed through the first winter, and eventually made a life there. Nine winters after his arrival, he died of an illness recorded by the local infirmary. His surviving later work, correspondence, and death record establish that sequence. There is no secret survival, ghost, suspended animation, or off-world disappearance.

He was neither an immaculate martyr nor a deserter explained by one accusation. He chose to stay when people needed his work, and later chose to stay when departure became possible. He sent messages that did not all reach their recipients. His family lived with the absence; the community lived with the help. Players decide how to carry that complicated answer, not whether the historical facts are true.

The present expedition has its own obligation. Ravel Step’s current cable landing needs attention, a maintenance crew becomes stranded, and a medic needs an agreed route for ordinary supplies. The crew cannot finish by collecting a dead courier’s possessions while leaving the living with a broken landing. The finale returns a private letter and settles the family-approved custody of Eren’s personal satchel, with two distinct journeys and epilogues.

Open to anyone

Any starting allegiance can follow the whole story. Faction abilities are useful expressions of how you work, never exclusive keys.

Where it happens

Lantern Quay — the return desk
Lysa’s existing public dispatch desk holds the copied outward manifest. Iven Solt meets the crew here on behalf of his family’s appointed correspondence custodian. The same region hosts the final family handover on one ending.
High Roost — the route room
Eda Skell supplies a present route guide and a separately preserved old carrier schedule. The old designator is matched to a known wayhouse, not to a secret settlement or an uncharted planet.
Ravel Step — the upper wayhouse
A new named local scene within the established Saffron Escarpment region near High Roost. A kitchen, public bench, cable landing, small infirmary archive, and communal shelter support current travelers. This treatment does not assign new map coordinates, alter sanctuary borders, or turn its residents into a new faction.
The lower receiving platform
A disused local landing below Ravel Step, reached through an authorized approach. Its original office is gone; its surviving receiving ledger is already in the upper wayhouse. The crew surveys the surviving foundations and route markers rather than finding a conveniently untouched treasure chamber.
Mosslight Basin — the comparison desk
Nessa can examine public record copies at the existing Boreal workroom. This service is available through correspondence; membership, capital-ship access, and a special faction power are unnecessary.

The address on the back

Match Eren’s receiving reference to a known wayhouse and agree a present route.

Did the courier lose the road, or did the records lose the destination?

The weight he carried

Reach a stranded maintenance crew and reconstruct the load Eren brought uphill.

What does carrying a promise require from the people doing the carrying?

Received, not recognized

Prove that the delivery arrived and explain why its acknowledgment was rejected.

Can a delivery be complete when the people receiving it do not count?

Nine winters after

Reconstruct Eren’s later life and establish his death through independent records.

What do we owe a person whose useful life also left someone waiting?

What a name can carry

Resist a simplified hero story and agree the satchel’s family-approved future.

Who gets to use a dead courier’s name—and what belongs to the people he left?

An answer carried home

Complete the family handover, honor the agreed custody, and leave a usable wayhouse behind.

What can a late answer repair without pretending the waiting never happened?

Two ways it ends

Both endings resolve the same question. They differ in who carries the work afterwards.

The Road Home

At Lantern Quay, Iven confirms the original satchel’s arrival and closes the family letter away from the public desk. The worn strap lies beside a current receipt, not a counterfeit completion in Eren’s name. Ravel Step sends an acknowledgment of its replica and accurate display. The selected lamp repair or relief handover appears in the next ordinary departure notice. The case closes with two communities holding different pieces of the same completed account.

The family holds the original satchel and private correspondence. Ravel Step holds its public evidence, replica, and continuing work. Later visits can update the shared source references or check the landing; there is no permanent player ownership or claim to private letters.

A Place at the Table

After the family packet is received at Lantern Quay, the crew returns to Ravel Step. Iven’s appointed agreement leaves the original satchel on a documented loan beside the approved display, with the owner and recall terms visible. A family replica has already arrived. Mika pulls a chair to the repaired bench while a current traveler asks for the ordinary route sheet. Eren is remembered where he lived, without asking his family to surrender him.

The wayhouse maintains condition checks and honors the family’s recall rights. The family keeps its letter, replica, and access to the public account. A later loan review can be handled through an authorized follow-up; the player cannot sell the object or veto its return.
