Now
In service coordinating relief and trade convoys; several inherited route priorities are under review.

Two long hulls joined by open docking bridges carry dispatch halls, freight berths, and a web of returning couriers. One empty collar is kept lit for a ship whose final delivery never reached the board.

Two damaged relay tenders joined during the first recovery of the frontier routes.

Relay arrays, modular cargo berths, and a large dispatch staff let the ship coordinate and support a complex convoy.

No message travels alone.

Thousand Lanterns · ship’s motto

Who has the deck

Joren Pell, convoy master. A patient navigator who rose through freight handling and dispatch. His authority covers the flagship and its agreed convoy work, not every independent courier in the Exchange.

The empty collar

A forward docking collar carries an old warm lamp beside newer lilac route lights. Crews service it even though no vessel is assigned. Its emptiness remains visible on the busy inner flank.

What it cannot do

Open bridges and docking traffic create coordination and exposure problems. A strong signal cannot create a clear route, replacement cargo, or permission to enter a port.

A tradition aboard

At departure, dispatch reads one personal message alongside the convoy’s work orders. The Last Parcel custom survives even aboard the largest route vessel.

Who argues with the captain

Eris Tal — The descendant of a Little Answer crew member. Eris keeps the berth working and refuses to let an empty dock substitute for an investigation.

Four eras, one hull

The broken routes

Two damaged tenders combine their surviving drive, relay, and dispatch functions.

The first common timetable

New open docking bridges turn a temporary pairing into the Exchange’s flagship.

The Winter Queue

A preferred contract displaces relief departures. Little Answer disappears on an unofficial return route.

Today

Ren links a current route preference to the old arrangement, reopening the inquiry into the missing courier.

Aboard

The Public Board

A tiered dispatch gallery where published destinations and witnessed timetable changes can be questioned.

The Crossing Tables

A market and meal hall spanning the hulls. Rival crews share tables while their cargo moves below.

Little Answer’s Berth

The unassigned collar and a small maintenance locker holding the last delivery receipts returned before the disappearance.
